Sia goes disguise-free in Transparent cameo

Written by . Published: December 19 2015

Pop star Sia has ditched her disguises for a brief appearance in the second season of hit TV series Transparent.

The Chandelier singer frequently hides her face behind wigs for public appearances to protect her identity, but she decided to leave her oversized hairpiece behind when she filmed a guest spot on Jeffrey Tambor's show, in which the actor stars as transgender parent Maura Pfefferman.

Sia, whose platinum blonde locks are hidden under an unruly long, brown wig, portrays a character named Puppet in season two's Man on the Land episode, in which Pfefferman attends the fictitious Idylwild Wimmin's Music Festival with her onscreen daughters, played by Amy Landecker and Gaby Hoffmann, who pass by the musician as she belts out a tune.

Transparent creator Jill Soloway and singers Peaches and the Indigo Girls also make cameos in the episode.
