Sherri Shepherd's surrogate gives birth to son
A surrogate woman at the centre of actress and TV personality Sherri Shepherd's divorce from husband Lamar Sally has given birth to a baby boy.
Sally filed for legal separation from the Precious star in May (14) after three years of marriage, and asked a judge to grant him full legal and physical custody of the unborn child they had been expecting together through a surrogate.
Shepherd fired back by lodging her own divorce papers in a New
Jersey court, citing irreconcilable differences, and she has since
disavowed maternity, claiming Sally defrauded her when they signed
the surrogate paperwork by planning to split from her all along and
demand child support.
Their son was born in Pennsylvania on Tuesday (05Aug14). Sally was
the only one present for the birth, reports TMZ.com.
The news emerged hours after Shepherd, a departing co-host of talk
show The View, announced she is due to make her Broadway debut this
September (14) as the evil stepmother in Rodgers and Hammerstein's
Cinderella.
Shepherd, 47, is already mother to her nine-year-old son Jeffrey,
from her first marriage to Jeff Tarpley. She recently won a custody
challenge from her ex after a judge dismissed his claims that she
was too busy to look after their child properly.
