Shakira recieves star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Shakira has become the first Colombian to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The pop superstar was recognized by officials as "the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time" as she unveiled the 2,354th star on Tuesday (08Nov11).

The sidewalk plaque is the start of a big week for the Hips Don't Lie hitmaker - she will also be celebrated at a special dinner on Wednesday (09Nov11), when she is named the recipient of the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year award.

Shakira will receive the accolade for her career achievements and her endless charity work with her educational organization, the Barefoot Foundation.
