Selena Gomez's alleged stalker sentenced to mental institution
A man accused of stalking Selena Gomez has been committed to a mental health facility and ordered to stay away from the pop star for the next 10 years.
Che Cruz was arrested outside the Come & Get It hitmaker's home in Calabasas, California on 31 March (14) and showed up at the estate again four days later, just hours after he was released from jail.
On Friday (20Jun14), he pleaded no contest to a charge of felony
stalking and was ordered to complete a 30-day sentence on lockdown
at a mental health facility.
He must then undergo another 180 days of treatment as an
out-patient.
The judge overseeing the case also slapped Cruz with a 10-year
restraining order, requiring him to stay at least 200 yards (182.9
meters) away from Gomez, reports TMZ.com.
