Selena Gomez reaches out to help suicidal fan - report
Selena Gomez reportedly comforted a suicidal fan by sending them a supportive Instagram message.
According to editors at The Blast, a woman who runs a Selena Gomez fan account posted a worrying note online on Sunday (15Oct17).
After fans alerted the singer to the note, the Same Old Love star is said to have sent the fan a private message which read, "I don't care if you love or hate me, suicide is never the answer. If you need someone to talk to, please dm (direct message) me - you are loved by your family and friends, trust me. I love you."
The distressed fan has since confirmed she is now receiving professional help, thanks to Selena's intervention.
This is not the first time 25-year-old Selena has reached out to a fan having suicidal thoughts; in 2015 she followed an Instagram user who was going through a difficult time and sent them an inspirational message telling them they were "not alone in this world".
The star has also been vocal about her own battle with depression, and is an executive producer of Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, which follows high school students coping with a classmate's suicide.
