Selena Gomez crowned Glamour's Woman of the Year

Singer/actress Selena Gomez has been named Glamour magazine's Woman of the Year.

Justin Bieber's girlfriend was chosen by editors at the publication in recognition of her career success and her extensive charity work, which includes her role as an ambassador of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Praising her philanthropy efforts, her country star pal Taylor Swift tells the magazine, "She's giving back to people who need help, because of her own life experience. She's the exception to so many rules."

Gomez, who appears all glammed up on the cover of Glamour's upcoming December (12) issue, admits she is flattered by the title.

She says, "Woman of the Year - I didn't even know I was a woman! I'm very honored... and it's a very, very big deal to me. I'm going to hold it close to my heart."
