Scott Eastwood's heartbreak over girlfriend's death

Scott Eastwood has opened up about his heartbreak following the tragic death of his girlfriend in a car accident.

The 30-year-old actor has become one of the hottest stars in Hollywood thanks to his roles in movies like Gran Torino and Suicide Squad. But while his profile continues to rise, Scott hasn't capitalized on his fame by exploring the dating world. And now the actor, the son of movie legend Clint Eastwood, opened up about the harrowing reason he doesn't date as much as he maybe otherwise would.

"I dated a girl a couple of years ago who died in a car accident," he told GQ Australia magazine. "The f**ked up thing is, it was a fender bender, and there was a recall on airbags. Her airbag exploded. It shot a projectile through her body. It split her spine, and... I've never told anybody that.

"I've lost friends before; I've lost some great friends. But, I had never lost someone I had been really intimate with. Maybe it's made it harder for me to date."

Scott has most recently been romantically linked to stars including Baywatch beauty Charlotte McKinney and The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev. But despite these rumored dalliances, Scott is still searching for 'The One', and he is well aware that the hunt can be a difficult one.

"It's easy to fall in love when you're young, right?" he added. "And then you start to realize those feelings of love and stuff, passion, love, lust, sometimes they come very quickly, but they can also leave quickly."

Despite his new position as one of Hollywood's hottest heartthrobs, this isn't the first time Scott has found himself bombarded with attention from the opposite sex. In fact he got even more interest during his stint as a bartender.

"That was probably the wildest time," he smiled. "It still beats out being in movies or whatever. It still beats out all that, a thousand times."
