Scarlett Johansson directed by sister for new project
Scarlett Johansson's next project is a family affair, as her older sister Vanessa directs her in narrating the audiobook for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
The Avengers star will be the voice for author Lewis Carroll's beloved classic tale, and Vanessa, who is an accomplished voice actress, tells People magazine they jumped at the chance to work together on the project.
"It was kind of a no-brainer," Vanessa says. "We're very close and,
as you can imagine, have been playing around and doing funny voices
since we were little so it was great project for the two of us
because we're so used to inventing together."
The process of recording the story for online audiobook store
Audible.com came easy for the siblings, since the tale of Alice's
trip to a fantasy world kept them entertained the whole time.
"There was a lot of laughter, a lot of goofiness happening,"
Vanessa says. "The story certainly warrants a lot of that. It's a
total wacky, crazy story - we were like, 'Oh my god, that was
written for children?!' It's so out-there, really!"
Audible's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland audiobook will be
available for purchase starting on 23 February (16).
