Saved by the Bell drama to be played out in TV movie
Actors Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Mario Lopez are set to have their lives played out on the small screen in a new made-for-TV movie about their popular teen sitcom Saved By The Bell.
A film titled The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story is set to premiere on Lifetime network on 1 September (14), chronicling the behind-the-scenes drama at the program, which ended its four-season run in 1993.
According to Variety.com, the film is based on interviews with the
cast and crew members, and will also include events depicted in
actor Dustin Diamond's 2009 memoir, Behind the Bell, which details
offscreen relationships and cast members' personal problems.
The original casting director for Saved by the Bell, Robin Lippin,
was tapped to find modern-day equivalents for the main group of
actors. The film's cast includes Degrassi: The Next Generation's
Dylan Everett as Gosselaar, Shameless actor Sam Kindseth as
Diamond, and Supernatural star Tiera Skovbye as Elizabeth
Berkley.
