Sam Smith's waxwork changed due to weight loss
A sculptor had to alter Sam Smith's waxwork after the singer lost weight following their measuring session.
The Stay With Me hitmaker unveiled his lookalike at Madame Tussauds in San Francisco, California on Monday (10Aug15), and revealed he had to sit through the meticulous measuring sessions twice because he lost 42 pounds (three stone) after he first sat for the sculptors.
He tells Press Association "It took me three to four hours, I had
loads of dots on my face and had to stand still in that (the
figure's) position. And then I lost like three stone after I did
the sitting so they had to do another one and then shave off the
wax, which is a good problem to have."
Smith took 'selfies' of him kissing and licking his waxwork and
posted them on Instagram.com. He added in a caption, "Possibly the
most surrealist experience of my life (sic)..."
