Sam Smith's Bond theme tops U.K. charts
Sam Smith's new James Bond theme has shot to top of the U.K. pop charts.
Writing's On The Wall has made history by becoming the first 007 theme to reach number one in the U.K. after achieving combined chart sales and streams of 70,000 copies.
Previously, Adele's Skyfall and Duran Duran's View To A Kill
reached number two on the countdown.
Thrilled Smith says, "This is a special moment I'll never forget. I
couldn't have done this without my fans."
The Stay With Me singer will premiere the video for his new Bond
theme on Global James Bond Day on Monday (05Oct15).
Justin Bieber's What Do You Mean? slips to two, while Locked Away
by R City featuring Adam Levine is at three.
Disclosure's new album Caracal takes over at the top of the album
chart, ahead of Music Complete by New Order and David Gilmour's
Rattle That Lock, which topped the countdown last week
(25Sep15).
Every Open Eye by Churches and I Cry When I Laugh by Jess Glynne
round out the new top five.
