Sam Lutfi calls for Britney Spears to testify
Britney Spears' former svengali Sam Lutfi has asked a judge to order the singer to testify in his ongoing defamation battle with her family.
Lutfi, who claims to be Spears' former manager, argues the pop star is now well enough to take the stand, according to papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Thursday (30Aug12) and obtained by TMZ.com.
He is said to have included DVD footage of Spears in her latest
role as a judge on The X Factor with his filing to prove she is
mentally capable of testifying after her conservators previously
insisted otherwise.
Lutfi wants Spears to appear in court so he can ask her about
allegations her mom Lynne made in her memoir Through The Storm.
In the book, Lynne claims Lutfi secretly drugged her daughter and
refused to let her freely speak to family and friends.
A hearing is scheduled for 25 September (12).
