Ryan Reynolds is the Sexiest Dad Alive

Ryan Reynolds has been named People magazine's Sexiest Dad Alive.

The 39-year-old actor is father to daughter James, who turned one in December (15), with wife Blake Lively. His latest honour was revealed when he appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night (09Feb16), with host Jimmy unveiling the magazine cover announcing his new title and accompanying smouldering cover shot.

Ryan was less than impressed with the picture of himself though, telling Jimmy: "What?! I mean come on! I mean scientifically speaking, what's sexier than a man that fornicates, produces children and then looks surprised about it."

The Deadpool actor didn't go into details about his family during his appearance on the show but did tell Jimmy that Blake and James are "doing great".

Ryan previously opened up about how much he loves fatherhood, but said he doesn't want to become a celebrity who acts like they are the first person ever to become a parent.

"I love it (being a father)," he told Good Morning Britain. "For everyone that does it it's the most common thing in the world and yet it's also the most profound so it's this weird paradox.

"You just don't want to be one of those awful celebrities who are talking about it like they're the only person on earth who has ever managed to conceive and bear a child. I see that it's something to celebrate with a lot of my friends who are also having kids - it's super fun, I love it."

Ryan took over the Sexiest Dad Alive title from last year's winner Justin Timberlake, who has a 10-month-old son Silas with wife Jessica Biel.
