Written by . Published: August 23 2016

Rupert Grint has signed on to star in the TV adaptation of cult film Snatch.

The Harry Potter actor will also executive produce the project, which is a straight-to-series drama for Sony's streaming network Crackle.

Fellow Brit Ed Westwick and Scottish star Dougray Scott are also on board for the ensemble show, with The Musketeers' director Nicholas Renton at the helm.

While the small screen version is based on the 2000 film starring Jason Statham and Brad Pitt, it will also be a crime comedy with the addition of new characters.

Snatch is set to premiere in 2017.
