Rupert Grint blocks out Harry Potter kiss with Emma Watson
Actor Rupert Grint has recalled the "surreal" moment he had to kiss his Harry Potter co-star Emma Watson.
The British star played Ron Weasley in the hit movie franchise and in the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, he had to lock lips with Emma's character Hermione Granger, and even now, it's a scene he's reluctant to revisit.
"I never look back at that scene," he admitted to People at the
Celebration of Harry Potter event in Orlando, Florida. "I've known
Emma since she was literally nine years old and we had this very
brother-sister relationship, and it just felt very surreal. I have
a memory of her face getting closer and closer. Like, 'Oh my God.'
I can't really remember anything apart from that."
While Rupert has blocked most of the scenario out of his head
completely, he does remember only having to do it the one time.
"One take was enough," the 27-year-old added. "It was such a huge
moment and there was so much expectation. Quite a lot of pressure
actually."
Rupert wasn't the only Harry Potter actor to admit to having a
scene he didn't enjoy at the event.
Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom, confessed he would
like to change a lot of his moments in the franchise.
"It's hard to narrow it down to a particular scene, because it's
not like I would say, 'That one scene is dreadful.'" he said. "I
think they're all dreadful. As an actor, I've grown and got more
experience."
However, the 26-year-old, who has won a whole new legion of fans
after transforming into quite the hunk recently, insists he has had
the time to realize how lucky he was to be in the movies, which
came to an end in 2011.
"I feel the experience we all shared was such a great unique thing,
I wish maybe I'd been a bit more aware of that at the time and
appreciated it more," he said. "I would have tried to enjoy it
more, but I did have a great time. I guess my advice would be,
'Enjoy it while you can.'"
