Rupert Friend is engaged

Actor Rupert Friend and athlete-turned-model Aimee Mullins are engaged to be married.

The Homeland star was Mullins' escort to the L'Oreal Paris's Women of Worth awards on Tuesday night (02Dec14), and as she was introduced as one of the honorees, host and TV personality Mika Brzezinski let it slip that the happy couple is set to tie the knot.

A source tells People magazine Brzezinski "gave her a congratulatory shout-out when calling her up to the stage, which prompted a ton of applause from the audience."

The insider adds, "It was really sweet because Aimee was tight-lipped about it earlier in the night, not wanting to take attention from the honorees."

Mullins and Friend, who split from actress Keira Knightley after a five-year relationship in 2011, have been dating since last year (13).
