Rufus Wainwright weds

Singer Rufus Wainwright married his longterm partner Jorn Weisbrodt at his home in Montauk, New York on Thursday (23Aug12).

The star wed the theater producer in front of around 250 guests including music legend Lou Reed, actress Julianne Moore, Yoko Ono, Carrie Fisher and music producer Mark Ronson, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.

After the ceremony, the wedding party moved to the Clam Bar in nearby Napeague, where guests dined on a feast of local seafood.

The couple became engaged in November 2010 and is parents to a little girl called Viva Katherine Wainwright Cohen, whom Wainwright fathered with Lorca Cohen, daughter of singer Leonard Cohen.
