Robyn visits Swedish students who are building her a robot

Pop star Robyn paid a visit to a group of students in her native Sweden last week (ends21Apr13) to brainstorm plans for a robot they are building in her honor.

The mechatronics class at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm is dedicating the rest of the year to creating a robot inspired by the singer, who has previously written android-themed songs including Fembot and Robot Boy.

Robyn gave the students a boost when she visited the university to discuss how the robot should look, as well as the dance moves it should perform, according to a KTH blog.

In a video explaining the assignment, a robot says, "So why is KTH gong to build a robot in honor of Robyn? One reason, of course, is that she seems to like robots. Another reason is that she makes electronic music. And then, she also has the ambition to break new ground, just like some of you who might have plans to invent something or start a company. So, the robot will be a celebration of Robyn and people who go their own way."

The project is due to be completed in January 2014.
