Robert Pattinson accidentally spent counterfeit money while shooting new heist film

Actor Robert Pattinson became an accidental criminal by spending counterfeit money from the set of his film Good Time.

The Brit plays a bank robber in the new heist movie and brothers Benny and Josh Safdie, the directors of the project, have publicly called out their leading man for inadvertently committing a felony in real life.

"This money (from the set) is all perfectly counterfeit money that Rob actually spent," Josh revealed to Vulture. "It literally looked like real money. He (Robert) was so obsessed with being the character all the time, that he would go on walks on breaks in the costume.

"And he came to me and was like, 'I think I committed a federal crime. I'm pretty sure I spent $200 of that counterfeit money'. Because it was so realistic; our props guy was really, really obsessive with making sure it lived up to our standards."

Pattinson also started to go bald while filming Good Time: "Some scenes they peroxided my bangs," he previously told PageSix. "They changed my hair color so many times that some of my hair fell out.”

Robert has also grabbed a lot of headlines for comments he has made while promoting Good Time - the star's remarks about refusing to masturbate a dog for a scene in the film went viral, prompting bosses at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to publicly applaud him for his decision.

Pattinson has since revealed the statement he made during a chat with late night show host Jimmy Kimmel was a joke.
