Rita Ora helps out at hurricane relief shelter
Rita Ora did her bit for the Hurricane Harvey relief effort in Texas on Wednesday night (30Aug17) by helping out at a shelter in Dallas.
The Your Song singer took to Twitter during the day and asked followers if they knew of any places she could visit in the city to offer her services.
"I'm trying to find a Houston Texas shelter in Dallas to go and help before I leave Texas! I want to help," she wrote.
And the 26-year-old, who was among the celebrities who volunteered to help those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire in London in June (17), was inundated with suggestions.
She was spotted helping to box up relief items and food at a donation center set up by a local radio station.
She is among a growing group of stars doing what they can to aid those hit hard by the historic storm, which has ravaged areas of Texas.
Movie stars Leonardo Dicaprio and Sandra Bullock have both donated $1 million (GBP770,000) to charities helping the worst affected, and the Kardashians and Miley Cyrus have handed over $500,000 (GBP387,000), while Texas natives Jamie Foxx and Bun B are organising a benefit concert to help with fundraising.
Actor/singer Foxx, who has also donated $25,000 (GBP19,000) to charity, will co-host the event, which is scheduled to take place on 12 September (17).
The tropical storm has wreaked havoc in Texas, killing at least 31 people and destroying more than 50,000 homes.
