Rihanna to host first gala for foundation

Rihanna is using her star power to host the first Diamond Ball to support her Clara Lionel Foundation.

The Diamonds hitmaker launched the charity in 2012 and the organization aims to improve health, education, arts, and culture for communities around the world.

On 11 December (14), Rihanna will host and perform at the inaugural black tie fundraising event at The Vineyard in Beverly Hills, California.

The pop star announced the details in a statement: "One of the greatest benefits of my job was being able to start the Clara Lionel Foundation in honor of my grandparents. There is truly nothing I'm more proud of and we've just gotten started. I'm excited to continue my work and thrilled to be able to host the Diamond Ball - a night that promises to be elegant and inspirational."
