Rihanna's fashion collection met with bad reviews
Rihanna has failed to win over critics with her debut fashion collection - reviewers have branded her designs "hideous" and her grand unveiling in London a "horror show".
The Umbrella hitmaker officially launched the clothing line for U.K. high street chain River Island during London Fashion Week on Saturday (16Feb13), but after starting the nine-minute show an hour late, fashion writers were left unimpressed with the skimpy creations, which included midriff-baring crop tops, thigh high boots and sheer monochrome dresses.
Tom Sykes of TheDailyBeast.com dismissed the belly-baring tops and
high-slit skirts on display as "porny" and "hideous", while New
York Magazine's Alex Rees revealed it "didn't prove quite as
exciting as it could have been", although he's confident the items
will sell like "high street hot cakes" simply because of her star
status, adding, "She's Rihanna, after all".
Rihanna didn't appear to let the harsh reviews spoil her day - she
celebrated her fashion debut with a night out at London nightclub
The Box.
Rihanna's collection for River Island is set to go on sale in
stores in March (13).
