Rihanna fuming over song axe
Pop star Rihanna has aimed a foul-mouthed rant at TV bosses for dropping her song from a sports show in the aftermath of a domestic violence scandal affecting a player.
The Umbrella singer's hit track Run This Town had been reworked with a comedic segment featuring Don Cheadle for broadcast on Thursday Night Football last week (ends14Sep14).
However, the song was dropped from the line-up after Baltimore
Ravens player Ray Rice was caught on camera allegedly assaulting
his partner in an elevator resulting in a ban from playing in the
National Football League (NFL).
Rihanna, who was a victim of domestic violence herself in 2009, has
now spoken out about the song ban and accused TV bosses of
punishing her for someone else's mistakes, insisting she does not
want them running the track in this week's (beg15Sep14) show.
In a serious of posts on Twitter.com, she writes, "CBS you pulled
my song last week, now you wanna slide it back in this Thursday?
NO...! Y'all are sad for penalising me for this... The
audacity..."
Reports suggest CBS bosses now plan to drop Rihanna's song for a
second time following her Twitter.com rant.
Rihanna was left battered and bruised after she was beaten by her
then-boyfriend Chris Brown following a pre-Grammy Awards party in
2009. Brown was later convicted of assault for attacking the
singer.
