Remy Ma dismisses death rumors

Remy Ma has spoken out to silence vicious reports suggesting she was stabbed to death behind bars.

The Lean Back hitmaker, real name Reminisce Smith, is currently serving an eight-year sentence at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in New York following her conviction for a 2007 shooting, but sick rumors emerged on Monday afternoon (16Jul12) claiming she had been targeted in a fatal attack.

However, the star called in to Big Apple radio station Hot 97 hours later to dismiss the allegations and she blames ruthless gossip-mongers for spreading the lies.

She told DJ Funkmaster Flex, "I'm real good. I heard I was dead and all type of craziness. People are crazy. I was trending worldwide (on Twitter). People have nothing to do with their lives sometimes, so they just say things and then it gets out of control."

During the phone chat, Remy Ma also revealed she would be eligible for early release in 2014 after 22 more months behind bars.

She was jailed in May 2008.
