Reese Witherspoon scraps TV appearances after arrest drama

Reese Witherspoon has scrapped an appearance on Jimmy Fallon's talk show in light of her arrest for disorderly conduct on Friday (19Apr13).

The Legally Blonde actress was arrested and charged after becoming engaged in an argument with a traffic cop who had pulled over the car her husband Jim Toth had been driving in Atlanta, Georgia. The talent agent was also booked for driving while intoxicated.

The actress honored a commitment to promote her new movie Mud at its premiere in New York on Sunday night (21Apr13), but has since decided to axe a planned interview on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday (23Apr13).

She also pulled out of shooting a pre-taped segment for breakfast show Good Morning America on Monday (22Apr13), which would have aired on Wednesday (24Apr13).

Meanwhile, a hearing into Witherspoon's disorderly conduct charge was postponed from Monday until 22 May (13).
