Rapper Bow Wow lands role in CSI spin-off

Rapper Bow Wow has landed a huge acting boost after signing on to star in Csi: Crime Scene Investigation spin-off Csi: Cyber.

The Shortie Like Mine hitmaker, real name Shad Moss, will portray a 19-year-old computer hacker ordered to work alongside Special Agent Avery Ryan, played by Patricia Arquette, as part of the punishment for his tech crimes.

James Van Der Beek and Peter MacNicol are also part of the cast for the new Jerry Bruckheimer drama.

Announcing the news about the new recruit, CSI creator Anthony Zuiker says, "Bow Wow is a gifted young actor who will have the responsibility, through his character, to set an example for young people who watch the show to do what's right even when you know nothing but wrong.

"It will be a redemption story and a cautionary tale all wrapped into one. The role of Nelson required someone with deep acting chops and off-the-charts smarts. Shad Moss is a unique talent that possesses both."
