Prince Harry and Ellie Goulding spark rumors of a romance - report

Ellie Goulding and Britain's Prince Harry have sparked romance rumors.

The 29-year-old singer has been single since splitting from McFly singer Dougie Poynter back in March (16). But it seems she has found herself a new man - in the form of an heir to the British throne.

According to The Sun newspaper, the pair had been sending "text messages" to each other in recent months, before they attended the Audi Polo Challenge at Coworth Park in Berkshire, England, last month (May16).

It was at this star-studded event that their friendship apparently stepped up a notch, as onlookers reported they "couldn't keep their eyes off each other".

"Harry got Ellie’s number a while ago and got in touch," one told the publication. "They’d always got on very well through their various meetings after she was the wedding singer at Kate and William’s wedding reception.

"But things stepped up a gear and they had been in touch in recent weeks and their first really public meeting since was at the polo."

While the event was a daytime one, Ellie, Harry and their friends continued the celebrations into the evening. Apparently, the couple were even allegedly spotted sneaking a kiss under a blanket at one point.

"Harry was really going for it after the polo – he was drinking and dancing," the source added. "They were part of a wider group including Tom Hardy.

"But Harry and Ellie only had eyes for each other all night – they spent a lot of time sitting together under blankets." And the source alleged to The Sun: "They were seen having a kiss before Harry had to go because he was playing polo the next day. Ellie left about five minutes later."

Ellie and Harry first struck up a friendship after she performed at his brother Prince William's wedding back in 2011. She then took part in the closing ceremony of Harry's Invictus Games in 2014.

"He has told friends how much he likes Ellie and she is clearly taken by him," a royal insider told the paper.
