Pregnant star Kaylee DeFer planning acting hiatus

Pregnant star Kaylee Defer is planning an acting hiatus once her baby arrives so she can focus on raising her son.

The former Gossip Girl actress and her boyfriend, Fitz and The Tantrums singer Michael Fitzpatrick, are expecting their first child together later this year (13).

DeFer accepts her acting ambitions will have to take a backseat once she becomes a mother, and she is already eyeing other jobs behind the scenes.

She tells Us Weekly, "I've actually been thinking about venturing into new creative outlets. Mostly writing, still in the acting genre. I have a lot of time on my hands. I've been wanting to take a break and now I can do the things I didn't have a chance to do before."

The 26 year old previously revealed her doctor is "95 per cent sure" she is carrying a boy: "We think it's a boy. Well, the doctor is 95 per cent sure it's a boy. The baby was really shy that day (of the ultrasound), he was sleeping."
