Pink honoured at BMI Pop Awards
Singer Pink was honoured with the President's Award at the Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) annual pop prizegiving on Tuesday night (12May15).
The So What hitmaker was handed the prize "for her outstanding achievement in songwriting and profound influence on pop culture and the entertainment industry" at the 63rd annual ceremony in Beverly Hills, California.
The singer, real name Alecia Moore, performed with City and Colour
star Dallas Green and songwriter Billy Mann at the event. Her
husband Carey Hart shared a video of her set on Instagram.com and
wrote, "My bad a** wife won the #BMI #President award tonight. Her
performance w/ (with) @cityandcolour_official was awesome as
always. So proud of you baby, you deserve it all."
John Legend's All of Me was named BMI Pop Song of the Year, while
Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and Avicii all shared the BMI Pop
Songwriter of the Year title alongside Benny Blanco, who co-wrote
Iggy Azalea's Black Widow and Maroon 5's Maps, and Noel Zancanella,
who worked on Ellie Goulding's Burn and Demi Lovato's Neon
Lights.
