Pink: 'Carey Hart deserves awards recognition for song inspiration'
Pink has credited her husband, motocross racer Carey Hart, with the success of her hit song Just Give Me A Reason, because the track is based on the story of their life together.
The tune has landed the singer and her collaborator Nate Reuss a Song of the Year nomination at the 2014 Grammy Awards, but Pink insists Hart deserves to be recognised too because the ups and downs of their 12-year romance inspired the lyrics for the ballad, which details a troubled relationship.
Billboard magazine's Woman of the Year tells the Associated Press,
"It's a conversation between lovers fighting the good fight and
that's been our life. Our family is everything to us...
"At the end of the day I crawl onto his lap and complain, so if
someone wants to award me for that, they should give him the
award."
Pink and fun. star Reuss are also shortlisted for the Best Pop
Duo/Group Performance Grammy Award for the duet.
The musician wed Hart in 2006 after five years of dating. They
separated in 2008, but reconciled and welcomed their first child
together, daughter Willow, in 2011.
