Paul Walker film proceeds donated to his charity
Profits from Paul Walker's new film Hours will be donated to the actor's charity, along with money made by DVD sales of his latest Fast & Furious movie.
Producers behind Walker's new thriller have confirmed they will be donating a portion of the film's box office revenue to his Reach Out Worldwide organization following his death in a car crash in California last month (Nov13).
Hours was released in the U.S. this week (ends15Dec13).
Executives at Universal Pictures have also confirmed they will be
donating a portion of the proceeds from the DVD release of Walker's
Fast & Furious 6 to the charity.
Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Pictures, says, "With the
passing of Paul, the world has lost a man who spent a great deal of
his life in service to others. We share in the deep grief of his
family, friends and the countless fans who love him. We keep Paul's
memory alive and honor his legacy through continued support of
Reach Out WorldWide, the non-profit (charity) he founded to give
hope to those who must rebuild after they have experienced natural
disasters."
Walker was killed when the sports car he was traveling in crashed
and burst into flames on 30 November (13). He was 40 years old.
