Paris Hilton's brother sent to jail
Paris Hilton's little brother Conrad Hilton is heading to jail after failing a series of drug tests.
A Los Angeles federal judge revoked the 22-year-old's probation and sentenced him to two months in prison on Monday (06Jun16) after he was kicked out of a substance abuse program.
"The U.S. Attorneys Office was satisfied with the sentencing and
two months was the recommendation we made in court," Assistant
Attorney Alexander Schwab tells Entertainment Tonight.
"Conrad has 48 hours from noon... to report to jail. He has to
report to the custody of the Bureau of Prisons. The U.S. Marshals
Service will arrange exactly where he will report to for his
time."
Sources tell the U.S. news show Conrad was emotional and "in tears"
as the sentencing was announced. His parents Rick and Kathy Hilton
were in the courtroom for the judge's ruling.
Hilton was given three years probation and 750 hours community
service in 2014 after pleading guilty to attacking several flight
attendants during a British Airways flight from London to Los
Angeles. He had to be restrained after becoming violent onboard
after allegedly smoking marijuana and cigarettes in an airplane
lavatory.
Conrad's attorney, Robert Shapiro, attributed his client's behavior
to a bad reaction to a sleeping pill.
Last year (Jun15), he was arrested again on suspicion of violating
a restraining order obtained by his ex-girlfriend, Hunter
Daily.
A judge ordered Conrad to check into a residential substance abuse
treatment program in January (16) after he failed a series of drug
tests.
During Monday's sentencing hearing, he asked the judge if he could
serve his time under house arrest at his grandfather's Palm
Springs, California home, insisting his family's Los Angeles pad
was a "bad environment" for him.
