Paris Hilton: 'I've been burned too many times to trust new lovers'
Paris Hilton is still hoping to find her soulmate one day following a string of high-profile heartbreaks.
The former The Simple Life star is currently celebrating the birth of her sister Nicky's daughter Lily Grace Victoria, and seeing her sibling so happy as a new mom and so in love with her husband, James Rothschild, has made Paris take stock of her own romantic affairs - and the 35-year-old confesses she's unsure if family life works for her.
“I’ve never seen Nicky so happy,” Paris gushes to People. “She’s
got a man that’s so loyal.
"I don’t trust (men) because I got hurt so much in my life that I
don’t want to put myself out there to get hurt again... but I would
love, one day, to find my soulmate and someone who I could give my
life to and build a life with and a family... Hopefully one
day.”
Paris' most recent love split came in April (16) when she broke up
with millionaire Thomas Gross after a year of dating. Before him,
she romanced Spanish model River Viiperi for almost two years.
And although she longs for a fulfilling romance, the socialite, DJ
and businesswoman is perfectly happy to focus on her professional
affairs as she waits for 'The One'.
“I feel like I’m finally an adult,” she smiles. “I’ve grown so much
as a person and a woman since The Simple Life.
“I’ve been through a lot, but I’ve worked really hard, and I’ve
built my empire. I run my company with 17 different product lines.
I’m going non stop, constantly traveling.”
Paris' reality show The Simple Life, in which she and pal Nicole
Richie regularly gave up their glamorous Hollywood lifestyles to
visit and live with regular folk in the heart of America, ran from
2003 to 2007.
