Paris Hilton brushes off Deadmau5's criticism of DJ skills
Paris Hilton has brushed off an online attack from dance superstar Deadmau5 after he slammed the socialite-turned-club DJ as an "amateur" who has "no place" spinning in top venues around the world.
The hotel heiress and reality TV regular spent the summer (14) playing hits for fans at club Amnesia in Spanish party paradise Ibiza after a successful residency stint behind the decks last year (13), and she capitalised on her DJ popularity by booking a turntable tour, with dates in Europe, Asia, South America and the U.S.
However, Hilton's international club success has irked Deadmau5,
who took aim at the socialite in a blog post on Thursday (23Oct14),
insisting she is "being a straight up a**" by taking away big gigs
from real turntable artists and "insulting" stars like himself by
claiming she is a "professional" DJ.
Deadmau5 compared Hilton jumping into the DJ industry with him
declaring himself a professional Formula One racing driver, and
closed the note by writing, "so paris, thank you... were actually
not even mad youre enthusiatic (sic) about electronic music... we
love that youre a part of our party. But please, get the f**k back
in your go kart. No need to prove that you found someone stupid
enough to consider paying you a million dollars for something the
world knows you arent (sic)... because here's what you actually are
to everyone who knows better.. ticket sales. nothing more."
The angry post was brought to Hilton's attention on Friday
(24Oct14), but she immediately dismissed Deadmau5's negative
comments.
Taking to Twitter.com, Hilton wrote, "I find it hilarious when
others try to badmouth me in order to get attention. Sorry that I'm
Killingit (sic) while doing what I love & live for."
She then teased fans by announcing, "Yay! Exciting news! Just
signed a huge residency deal at one of my favorite cities in the
world! LovingLife Killingit (sic)".
