One Direction stars set for charity soccer match
One Direction's Niall Horan is set to host a charity soccer match next month (May14) featuring his bandmates Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne.
Horan, who is unable to play after having surgery on his knee in January (14), will act as manager for an all-star team that includes his fellow One Direction singers at a soccer ground in Leicester, England on 26 May (14) to raise money for an autism charity.
The Irish singer writes in a post on his Twitter.com page, "Doin
(sic) a charity football game at Leicester City's stadium on the
26th of May, Louis and Liam are on my team, I'll be the manager!...
Big names involved! In aid of Irish autism (charity)!...Can't wait
for the game! Gona (going to) be great! Make sure ya (you) get ur
(your) tickets!"
Horan's team also includes veteran music legend Rod Stewart, as
well as British pop singer Olly Murs and former Boyzone star Keith
Duffy. They will take on a squad assembled by former U.K. soccer
star Robbie Savage, and the full line-up of players will be
announced later this month (Apr14).
Money raised by tickets sales for the game will be donated to
autism charities Irish Autism Action and U.K. Hearts And Minds
Challenge.
Tomlinson has previously appeared in several charity soccer
matches, and even landed a deal with his beloved English club
Doncaster Rovers.
