One Direction perform in torrential rain

Pop stars One Direction were soaked on stage at a show in Italy as they performed through a torrential rain storm.

The British-Irish boyband played a show at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino in Turin, Italy on Sunday (06Jul14), but the concert was marred by a heavy downpour.

The stars refused to let the rain stop the concert, and pictures show them struggling through their set as the weather worsened. The singers' clothes were soaked through and they were spotted using towels at the side of the stage in an attempt to dry off.

After the show, bandmember Niall Horan wrote in a post on Twitter.com, "I don't think I've witnessed rain like that in years! Jesus we got a right soaking! Unbelievable scenes," and Louis Tomlinson added, "Great show tonight! Great laugh in the rain!!"

Harry Styles also mentioned the weather, but insisted the wet show was a lot of fun, adding, "Thank you for having us Turin. You were very loud, We were very wet. Hope you had fun. Ciao .x"
