One Direction, Katy Perry and Selena Gomez lead Radio Disney award nominations
One Direction, Katy Perry and Selena Gomez will face off at the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards.
The boyband leads the nominations along with Perry and Gomez, who have all scored three nods each, and they will all compete in the Song of the Year category for Best Song Ever, Roar and Come & Get It respectively.
One Direction are also nominated for the Best Music Group trophy,
alongside R5 and Emblem3, while their supporters, known as
'Directioners' are nominated in the Fiercest Fans category.
Perry also landed a nod in the fan category along with Taylor
Swift, who will compete against the I Kissed a Girl hitmaker and
Demi Lovato for the Best Female Artist prize.
Meanwhile Gomez will battle it out with British stars Olly Murs and
Little Mix for the Best Song To Dance To award and the former
Disney star is also in the running for Radio Disney's Most Talked
About Artist alongside Austin Mahone and Ariana Grande.
The annual awards ceremony, which celebrates the most popular music
stars among teenagers, will be held at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre
on 26 April (14). The prizes are decided by a public vote.
