One Direction beat Adele and Ed Sheeran to second Silver Clef Best Live Act prize

One Direction are still winning awards even though the boy band has been on hiatus since December (15).

The quartet has been named the recipients of the O2 Silver Clef Awards Best Live Act prize, beating the likes of Adele, Ed Sheeran, Little Mix, and last weekend's (24Jun16) Glastonbury festival headliners Muse.

One Direction picked up over 60 per cent of the public vote to claim their second Silver Clef.

Fans voted via Twitter and the Nordoff Robbins website to choose a winner from 10 shortlisted artists who played live in the U.K. in the year ending March, 2016.

A statement from the boy band reads: "Thank you to all our fans for voting. Our live show is so important and it is amazing for this to be recognized by winning the Ticketmaster best live act award for the second time."

Lionel Richie (Silver Clef Award), Massive Attack (Best Band), Hozier (International Award), Patti Smith (Outstanding Achievement Award), and Jess Glynne (Best Newcomer) will also be honored at the 2016 Nordoff Robbins prizegiving, while Olly Murs will be named Best Male and Florence Welch Best Female, and Craig David will take home the Innovation Award and ELO frontman Jeff Lynne will accept the Icon Award.
