One Direction and Katy Perry take top honors at NRJ Music Awards

Pop stars One Direction and Katy Perry emerged victorious at France's 15th annual NRJ Music Awards on Saturday (14Dec13) after each winning two top honors.


The What Makes You Beautiful hitmakers earned prizes for Video of The Year for their hit track Best Song Ever and also took home the award for the International Duo/Group of The Year.


Bandmate Harry Styles later took to Twitter.com to share the happy news with fans, writing, "Thank you so much to NRJ for having us. Thank you everyone who voted! You, me, oui (yes)."


Perry was another double winner at the ceremony, which was held at the Cannes Festival Palace in the south of France, as she scooped the International Female Artist of the Year title and landed International Song of the Year for her hit single, Roar.


Meanwhile, Bruno Mars was named International Male Artist of the Year and British singer James Arthur claimed International Breakthrough of the Year.


Other winners at the 15th annual NRJ Music Awards included Louis Delort (Francophone Breakthrough of the Year), Tal (Francophone Female Artist of the Year), Stromae (Francophone Male Artist of the Year) and Christophe Mae, who was presented with the NRJ Award of Honor.
