Normani Kordei praised by fans for styling out stage tumble

Normani Kordei has been praised by fans after styling out an epic stage tumble during Fifth Harmony's recent concert in Brazil.

The 21-year-old singer was performing with bandmates Dinah Jane Hansen, Lauren Jauregui and Ally Brooke when she strutted her stuff across the stage. As she crossed the stage, the heel of her thigh-high patent boots appeared to slip on something and she fell to the ground in spectacular fashion. However, instead of being embarrassed about the faux pas, Normani chose to make it into a dance move, quickly adjusting her legs into a half-split position and flipping her hair back to save face. She then slid the extended leg back in and gracefully got back up into a standing position.

After the incident, which was caught on video from several angles and shared on social media and YouTube, fans rushed to congratulate Normani for her quick-thinking in recovering from the fall.

"Normani can literally save anything, she played it off and made it look like it was supposed to happen. Legend," one fan wrote, while another added, "I've never seen someone fall so beautifully."

Another shared a shot of the American Music Awards nominees for Artist of the Year and wrote: "Normani Kordei recovering from a fall on stage is more deserving to get an awards than some of these nominees."

Normani's recent appearance on U.S. TV talent show Dancing with The Stars may have aided her in how to style out such a fall. She and her professional partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy came third on the most recent series of the program, which concluded in May (17), despite having been thought to be shoe ins for the coveted mirrorball trophy.

Speaking to ETOnline after the show, Normani admitted she was surprised by the results.

“You're never really guaranteed,” she said. “It was quite a shocker for me as well, but I've gained so much from this experience. I'm so happy, and I can't even begin to express you know the gratitude that I carry and the blessing especially because I have a lifelong friend now (in Val).”
