Nikki Reed abandons flight over storm
Actress Nikki Reed was left stranded in New York on Wednesday (07Nov12) after her flight to Los Angeles was cancelled following hours of delays due to a new storm set to the East Coast.
The star's pal Ashley Greene was forced to miss the final press stops on the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 promotional tour in L.A. when her journey plans were ruined by the bad weather - but it initially appeared that Reed had been a little luckier leaving New York's John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport.
She told her Twitter.com fans, "Everyone say a prayer for me. On
the only flight taking off from JFK to LAX (Los Angeles
International Airport) on delta because no other airline will fly
with the storm. I'm scared."
The 24 year old returned to the site to reveal she was facing long
waits, stating, "You guys are so sweet. I've been reading all of
your tweets at the airport. Haven't taken off yet. Flight keeps
getting delayed. Feeling nervous." She then added: "Delayed
again".
Reed kept her followers updated about her situation, revealing she
was playing a game of cribbage with an elderly couple also waiting
for a flight - but eventually she decided to give up and find
somewhere to sleep for the night before attempting to fly on
Thursday (08Nov12).
In a post, she writes, "Ok. Time for a new plan. Been at the
airport for close to 8 hours and it's only getting worse outside.
I'm going to go find a place to sleep and try this again tomorrow.
Thanks for all your prayers. They kept me safe."
Airline bosses across the East Coast cancelled flights out of
airports in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania as a new wave of
bad weather headed for the area, little over a week since
superstorm Sandy hit last Monday (29Oct12), leaving millions
without power and thousands homeless.
