Nicole Richie gives fashion masterclass

Reality TV star-turned-designer Nicole Richie proved her style credentials as she doled out advice to industry hopefuls at the Teen Vogue Fashion University event on Saturday (20Oct12).

Lionel Richie's daughter, who is creative director of her own lines House of Harlow and Winter Kate, told how she made it in the business as she hosted a seminar at the seventh annual event in New York City.

Richie took to her Twitter.com page to post a photo of herself answering questions onstage, writing, "Thank you Teen Vogue Fashion University & everyone who came to the seminar! Perfect morning."

Editors at Teen Vogue select more than 500 youngsters every year to participate in the three-day crash course, which prepares them for a career in fashion.
