Nicki Minaj donates to Amber Rose's female empowerment campaign

Rapper Nicki Minaj has donated $5,000 to model Amber Rose's crowdfunding campaign to help launch her first female empowerment charity event.

Wiz Khalifa's estranged wife is raising funds to host the Amber Rose Slut Walk in a bid to fight sexual injustice and put an end to victim blaming in cases of sexual attacks.

The event is related to the first Slut Walk in Toronto, Canada in 2011, which was organized by a group of defiant women to protest comments made by a Toronto police offer, who advised female college students not to dress like "sluts" if they want to avoid becoming victims of sexual assault.

This week (begs03Aug15), Minaj decided to throw her support behind the cause by pledging $5,000, and Rose promptly took to Twitter.com to thank the Anaconda hitmaker for her donation.

Sharing a photo of the pledge, Rose wrote, "Wow!!!! Somebody Loves Muva (Rose) and totally gets the Movement!!!! Love u sis (sic)!!! @nickiminaj".

Model/actress Eva Marcille also handed over some cash, donating $150 on the GoFundMe.com page.

Rose had raised more than $28,000 of her $45,000 goal as WENN went to press.

The Amber Rose Slut Walk is slated to take place in Los Angeles on 3 October (15).
