Nick Jonas replaces Iggy Azalea at Pittsburgh Pride parade

Pop star Nick Jonas has replaced Iggy Azalea as the headliner at the upcoming Pittsburgh pride parade after the Australian rapper pulled out of the gig amid objections from a number of campaign groups.

The Fancy hitmaker was scheduled to perform for fans at the Pennsylvania event on Saturday (13Jun15), but some lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) activists protested against her appearance by canceling theirs, claiming Azalea had previously been accused of making homophobic comments on social media.

After weeks of controversy, Azalea announced Monday (08Jun15) that she will not attend the gig, saying, "I feel my participation at this point would only serve to further distract from the true purpose of the event," and on Wednesday (10Jun15), parade organizers revealed Jonas will now take her place.

Ironically, Jealous hitmaker Jonas was slated to join Azalea for her Great Escape arena tour which originally scheduled to start in April (15). The rapper axed the U.S. tour to give herself a break from her hectic schedule.
