Niall Horan opens up about scary airport encounter with paparazzi
One Direction star Niall Horan has opened up about his security scare at Los Angeles International Airport earlier this week (beg18Nov13) when he was dragged to the ground by an over-zealous paparazzo.
The band had to be rushed out of LAX by minders when waiting photographers created chaos in the airport, and Horan revealed he was caught up in the frenzy between the group, fans and snappers.
As he was driven away, the singer alerted fans to Tuesday's
(19Nov13) drama via Twitter.com, writing, "I hate the paps!! Just
got dragged to the floor by some idiot with a camera!"
Now fully recovered from the incident, Horan has recalled the chaos
to E! News, revealing he feared for his safety.
He explains, "We came out of this exit and there was, like, loads
of paps. Like 50, 60 paps and the fans were behind them, so
obviously we wanted to stop and see the fans because we haven't
been to L.A. for a while.
"They (paparazzi) just started getting really aggressive... They
started pushing each other, which meant we got pushed. Then someone
pushed me and dragged me to the floor."
The boy band is in town for an appearance on their mentor Simon
Cowell's TV talent show The X Factor.
