Neil Diamond has vowed to hand over the profits from all merchandise sold at his Denver, Colorado show to the relief fund for victims of last Friday's (20Jul12) cinema massacre.

Twelve film fans were killed and 58 injured when suspected gunman James Holmes entered a packed Aurora theatre and allegedly opened fire, just after the midnight start of new Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises.

Sweet Caroline hitmaker Diamond played at Denver's 1stBank Center on Thursday (26Jul12) and as a mark of respect he is donating money from the show to help those affected by the shooting.

In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page before the gig, he writes, "Hey Denver, 100 per cent gross of tonight's show merchandise $ will go to the Aurora Victim Relief Fund. Get a T-shirt and support your neighbours! If you can't make the show please consider donating to the Aurora Victim Relief Fund. Thank you! Love, Neil."
