Natalie Portman's troubled Western dropped from release
Natalie Portman's ill-fated Western movie Jane Got A Gun has been dropped by studio bosses almost a month before its release date.
The troubled production has suffered multiple setbacks and cast changes, with Michael Fassbender, Jude Law and Bradley Cooper dropping out while director Lynn Ramsay exited the project the night before filming began.
Executives at Relativity Media and the Weinstein Company had hoped
to release the film, now co-starring Ewan McGregor and Joel
Edgerton, in August last year (14), but it was repeatedly pushed
back, and was subsequently scheduled to hit cinemas on 4 September
(15).
However, Relativity bosses have now dropped the film and given up
its rights amid reports of financial turmoil, with many industry
papers predicting the company will soon file for bankruptcy.
