Mumford & Sons bring bagpipe player on stage at T in the Park
Folk rockers Mumford & Sons paid tribute to the Scottish audience during their headline set at the T in the Park music festival on Friday night (12Jul13) by performing with a bagpipe player.
The British stars took to the stage to close out the first night of the festival in Balado, Kinross-shire and they delighted the crowd by bringing a bagpipe musician on stage during their encore to play local anthem Flower Of Scotland.
Other acts to perform during the first day of the event included
Scottish stars Emile Sande and Texas, as well as The Proclaimers,
who complained about the soaring temperatures, telling the Daily
Record, "We probably need factor 200 (sunscreen). It is easier to
cope outside on a stage in weather like this than inside. The first
time we played here in 2001, it was in a tent. It was nowhere near
as hot as this. It was tough. It's tough playing inside a tent in
weather like this so I'm glad we're out."
Haim and Kraftwerk also hit the stage, as well as singer Jake Bugg,
who upset the crowd by getting the festival's location wrong,
saying, "Good evening Glasgow".
The festival, which is marking its 20th anniversary, will also
feature performances by Rihanna, Beady Eye, Snoop Dogg, The Script,
The Killers and Frank Ocean over the weekend (13-14Jul13).
