Movie bosses scale back last Hunger Games premiere out of respect for the dead in Paris

Executives at film company Lionsgate are scaling down the Los Angeles premiere of the final The Hunger Games film out of respect for those who lost their lives in the Paris terror attacks.

Monday night's (16Nov15) The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 launch was set to be one of Hollywood's most glitzy red carpets of the year, but movie bosses decided to tone the celebration down in light of what took place in France on Friday (13Nov15).

Over 120 lost their lives as ISIS terrorists launched a killing spree across the city.

The latest The Hunger Games film has links to France as the movie was partially shot there.

"Out of respect for the very recent events in Paris, we have decided to modify our red carpet and we will not conduct interviews at Monday’s Mockingjay 2 premiere," a Lionsgate spokesman reveals in a statement. "We will proceed with the rest of the event as planned in honor of the incredible fans who have always supported our films with such passion."

Jennifer Lawrence and her castmates are still expected to attend the premiere.

Promotional events in Paris for Tom Hanks and Natalie Portman's new films, Bridge of Spies and Jane Got a Gun, respectively, have also been scrapped out of respect for the dead and their families.

U2 and Motorhead also scrapped concerts in Paris over the weekend, and Foo Fighters have pulled the plug on their upcoming European tour in the wake of Friday night's atrocities.
