Molly Sims donating retail proceeds to Hurricane Sandy relief

Model-turned-actress Molly Sims is encouraging fans to shop from her favorite items online to raise money for the Hurricane Sandy relief effort.

The Yes Man star has a profile set up on internet retailer OpenSky.com, on which she shares her top fashion and accessories picks with users, and she has promised to donate all proceeds from sales on Friday (09Nov12) to aid the American Red Cross in the wake of the superstorm, which battered the East Coast last week (begs29Oct12).

In a post on Twitter.com, she writes, "Today I'm donating 100% of my @OpenSky proceeds to @RedCross for Sandy. OpenSky will match! Get to shopping!"

Sims is the latest celebrity to donate to the cause - Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Jon Bon Jovi helped raise an estimated $23 million for the organization during a star-studded telethon last Friday (02Nov12), while Lady Gaga and Rihanna have also made contributions to the aid effort.
